The Geothermal area in Hveragerdi is definitely worth visiting. The Geothermal Park is located in the central area of Hveragerdi and is a fenced area of hot springs, from which the community derives its name. The hot springs of Hveragerdi are among the most remarkable natural attractions in the southern part of Iceland. At the visitor centre, guests can learn about geothermal energy and hot springs, read interesting stories about the area, try egg boiling in a hot spring and have a natural or clay foot bath. There is also a small greenhouse growing tropical fruits that visitors are welcome to walk through. Entry fee is charged at the visitor centre.
